Asante Gold Corporation (CSE:ASE / FRANKFURT:1A9) is a Vancouver, Canada based gold exploration and development company. Our current focus is gold exploration and development in Ghana, West Africa. We have announced plans, subject to financing, to develop our Kubi Gold Project as a 550 tpd underground gold mine under the former AngloGold Ashanti open pit Kubi Gold Mine.
We are also studying the application of a new SMD - Sustainable Mining by Drilling process - a two-stage drilling method that enables direct mining of narrow deposits. The technology is being developed and commercialized by Anaconda Mining Inc. (“Anaconda”), in collaboration with Memorial University of Newfoundland, and utilizes technology proven in other industries. This is a 'disruptive technology' that has the potential to slash the capital and mining costs, and the time to production.
Senior management and advisors have been active in Ghana since 1993 and have been responsible for the acquisition or discovery of 17 million ounces of insitu gold resources that are either now in production or currently under development. Kubi adjoins to the south of AngloGold Ashanti's 66 million ounce* Obuasi Gold Mine, one of the World's greatest orebodies (* pre-mining resource, source company annual reports). We also have new gold drill discoveries on our Keyhole and Betenase options and Fahiakoba exploration project, all located in the center of Ghana's Golden Triangle.
